Erasmus' 1st appearance in print
(as "Herasmus Rotterda(m)mus"). This treatise
on the early ecclesiastical history of France by the French humanist Gaguin (1433-1501), General of the
Trinitarian Order, is famous for the long dedicatory letter (a3v-4r; Allen 45) by the young Erasmus. Printed
in roman type. Capital spaces with guide-letters. Woodcut mark at the end.
