Earliest publ. work of the Dutch humanist scholar J.I. Pontanus (1571-1639), who later became
historiographer of the King of Denmark. It also represents the earliest published work of the famed J. van
Meurs (1579-1639), who was only 17 years of age when he wrote these annotations. Textually, this is the 1st
printing of Macrobius' "De differentiis et societatibus Graeci Latinique verbi". It also is the 1st Pontanus ed.
of the "Opera", and of the Meursius Notae. Woodcut mark on title. In italics. Old ownership entry on title
(partly crossed out).
