Very rare defense of his attacks on the church of Rome, written by U. Hugwald (1496-1571) also called Mutz
or Mutius. After working as a private tutor and corrector in the press of Adam Petri, he became teacher and
headmaster of the Basel Latin school. Hugwald was a fervent defender of the anti-Roman feelings in
Germany. Large historiated woodcut initial. Beginning of main text within woodcut border (C1r).
