♦ Rarissime document signé par l'un des artistes majeurs du début du XVIe siècle : Cranach l'Ancien y reconnaît avoir perçu une somme du trésorier de son protecteur le Prince-Électeur de Saxe Johann-Friedrich. «Ich Lucas Cranach beken mit diser meiner Hantschrift das ich von dem erbaren Sebastian Schad Kamerschreiber fun und zwainczig f[loren] kane mer Gelt empfangen hab auf Crucis im Herbst im drei und dreisigsten Jar &c.»
— Traduction : «Moi, Lucas Cranach, reconnais par ce mien manuscrit, avoir reçu d'honorable Sebastian Schad, notaire de la Chambre, 25 florins, pas plus d'argent, le jour de la fête de la Croix au printemps l'année 1533 etc.»

(signed at the top) "Ich Lucas Cranach", 3 May 1533 ; 1 oblong page in-8 (10.5 x 21.5 cm) ; in German. — Extremely rare document signed by one of the major artists of the early 16th century : Cranach the Elder acknowledges in it that he received a sum of money from the treasurer of his patron, Elector Johann-Friedrich of Saxony. "Ich Lucas Cranach beken mit diser meiner Hantschrift das ich von dem erbaren Sebastian Schad Kamerschreiber fun und zwainczig f[loren] kane mer Gelt empfangen hab auf Crucis im Herbst im drei und dreisigsten Jar &c." — Translation : "I, Lucas Cranach, acknowledge by this manuscript of mine, having received from the honorable Sebastian Schad, notary of the Chamber, 25 florins, not more than silver, on the day of the Feast of the Cross in the spring of the year 1533 etc." — PROVENANCE Collection Alfred BOVET (no. 1742) ; then collection Ernst and Alfons von PAWEL-RAMMINGEN (Berlin, Henrici, 1928).
