Correspondance amicale sur les dernières années du peintre, dont deux lettres illustrées.
[Georges Félix GROSJEAN (1906-1992), journaliste et co-fondateur du journal Sud-Ouest, avait connu Foujita dans le Montparnasse d'avant-guerre ; il le retrouvera à Tokyo après la capitulation du Japon, et facilitera son départ pour les États-Unis, puis son retour en France en 1950 et sa naturalisation française ; il lui sera un ami fidèle. •7 avril 1957, illustrée d'un dessin représentant un bouquet de fleurs rehaussé de couleurs. Chagrin pour la mort de «Zouzou bien aimé [...] si fidèle et si obéissant. Il est invité par René Coty à Versailles : «Je fait faire jaquette chapeau chemise cravate etc. Je peux voir la reine tout prêt c'est un grand honor»...
•13 mai [1957]. «Enfin depuis l'hier mon atelier devient en ordre très bien et je puis travailler aujourd'hui même. Je dois travailler beaucoup maintenant»...
•24 septembre 1962, expliquant comment venir de Paris jusqu'à son atelier à Villiers le Bâcle près de Gif. 5 février 1963, refusant de peindre un tableau pour Jacques Lemoîne (président du journal Sud Ouest) : «à cause de ma santé il faut pas travailler ainsi le grand toile, maintenant, je veux reste tranquilment dans un trou, pour reposer et finir ma vie en paix. J'ai refuser tout les commands depuis quelque années, c'est mon seul désir de ma vie»...
•9 février, nouveau refus : «il ne faut pas trop insistez»....
•12 février, refusant la suggestion de faire une esquisse qui serait peinte «par la main d'autre, [...] le peintre ajoute n'importe quoi son idée, c'est très mauvais, Et, encore, les gens crois c'est une ouevre de moi, c'est un crime»...
•14 janvier 1967, voeux de bonne année ; il a été opéré : «c'était prostat et vessi (timeurs)» et est resté 27 jours à la clinique...

"Foujita" or "Foufou" (one unsigned), including 2 with DRAWINGS, 1955-1967, to his friend Georges GROSJEAN ; about 16 pages mostly in-8, including 3 postcards, envelopes and addresses. — Friendly correspondence about the last years of the painter, including two illustrated letters. [Georges Félix GROSJEAN (1906-1992), journalist and co-founder of the Sud-Ouest newspaper, had known Foujita in the pre-war Montparnasse ; he met him again in Tokyo after the surrender of Japan, and facilitated his departure for the United States, then his return to France in 1950 and his naturalization as a French citizen ; he was a faithful friend of Foujita. "I telephoned to announce the good news to the Ministry of Fine Arts and he congratulated me and immediately made me an officer [red circle]"... Invited by René Coty to Versailles : "I have a jacket, hat, shirt and tie etc. made. I can see the Queen very close, it's a great honour"... 13 May [1957]. "Finally since yesterday my workshop is getting in order very well and I can work even today. I have to work a lot now"... September 24, 1962, explaining how to get from Paris to his studio in Villiers le Bâcle near Gif. February 5, 1963, refusing to paint a picture for Jacques Lemoîne (president of the newspaper Sud Ouest) : "because of my health I must not work like this on the big canvas, now I want to stay quietly in a hole, to rest and finish my life in peace. I have refused all commissions for some years, this is my only desire in my life"... February 9, new refusal : "you must not insist too much" .... February 12, refusing the suggestion to make a sketch that would be painted "by the hand of another, [...] the painter adds anything to his idea, it's very bad, And, again, people think it's a work of mine, it's a crime"...
