Il fait sans doute ici référence au buste en bronze d’Hetzel alors en cours
de réalisation (voir lot n°7).

published in 1865. Auguste Alliou used them to make an illustrated edition of his own before the book’s publication.

(Kéraban the Inflexible). In postscript, he asks Mr. Auguste

” (Have you received the bust?) Probably referring to Hetzel’s bronze bust that was being made at the time (see Lot
No. 7).
