Édition originale

de ces fascicules portant sur les héliotropes, les myrtacées, les

primulacées, etc., faisant partie de l'impressionnante publication sur la flore brésilienne

des botanistes Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius (1794-1868) et Stephan Endlicher

(1804-1849). Poursuivie après leur mort par A. W. Eichler et Ignatz Urban et rédigée en

collaboration avec 70 scientifiques, cette étude parut de 1840 à 1906 et compte au total

15 volumes renfermant 21.000 pp. de texte et près de 3.800 planches.

Contient : Fascicule XVI : Primulaceae et Myrsineae (pl. 23 à 59).— Fasc. XVII : Ebenaceae

et Symplocaceae (pl. 1 à 14 et 1 planche de "Tabulae physiognomica" en couleurs).—

Fasc. XVIII, pars I: Myrteae (pl. 1 à 35, dont 31a, et les 7 premières en couleurs), pars II:

Barringtonieae et Lecythideae (pl. 36 à 82, dont 41a et 47a, et 2 "Tabulae physiognomica"

en couleurs), pars III: Myrtaceae (pas de pl.).— Fasc. XIX : Cordiaeceae, Heliotropieae et

Borragineae (pl. 1 à 13).— Fasc. XX : Lacistemaceae (pl. 77 à 81) et Monimiaceae (pl. 82 à

Century binding: threequarter sheepskin, marbled paper boards, ribbed spine (used and rubbed, joints

partly split, edges and corners very dulled, slightly trimmed with sometimes minimal lacks in the handwritten

keys).

First edition

of the first three parts of the "Flora Danica", a fundamental and monumental

work by the German-Danish botanist and doctor Oeder (1728-1791). Illustrated with

180 etchings (3 foldings) of the plants, including bryophytes, lichens and fungi, from the

lands of the Danish King which comprised then Denmark, Schleswig-Holstein, Oldenburg-

Delmenhorst, Norway, Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Greenland. Preceded by a table

of the plants names in Latin and Danish. An entire set of this botanical atlas contained

51 issues and 3 volumes of supplements and was published from 1766 until 1888. Title in

Danish printed in black and red.
