and the famous polemical work «Contra Celsum libri » (answer to Celius’ attacks against
the early Christianism contained in his «True Doctrine» of 178). Origen, from Alexandria
(184/184-253/254), considered by Erasmus as the most important theologian, lead an
ascetic life and and was a defensor of the apocatastasis or universal salvation. Gregorius
Nazianzus, Eusebius of Caesarea (who published together an anthology of Origen’s works,
«Origen’s Philocalia») and Gregorius Nyssenus resumed the same idea. Copy in a neat
