Extr. rare

(unknown?) view of a goldmining site near the Calaveras river in California, discovered

by the crew of Capt. Tremaine. The view shows the shaft of the goldvein near the river with a view on

the land prospected by the Anglo-Californian Society. Gold prospecting in Calaveras County began

in late 1848. Very rare and interesting print.

interior detail is given, but the coastlines, settlements and principal coastal features are identified.

upper side views of the cities Astrakan, Samarkand, Cambalu, and Barents’ wintering hut on Nova

Zembla. On both sides panels of costumed figures. Insular Korea in the Pacific.
