heightened with white gouache, 44 x 32 cm; not signed, former ms. attrib. on verso. Stuck by upper

corners under passe-partout. Sl. fox., sm. blue stains in right lower part, some paper flaws, repaired

tear in lower part, sm. defects in lower left margin.

Classical representation of Jesus, here in an architectural setting and surrounded by numerous

disciples, guiding Thomas’ fingers into the wound. Formerly attributed by a ms. note to the Italian

painter of the late-Baroque period A. Milani (1675-1749), active in Bologna and Rome.

Très charmant tableautin, d’une grande finesse d’exécution: lors d’une chasse, un pli cacheté est

échangé au vol entre une élégante amazone assise sur un cheval lancé au galop et un jeune homme

à pied; une guirlande florale cerne la scène.
