of one of the most popular Latin schoolbooks of the 16th c., Despauterius’
(1480-1520) grammar, here edited by Gabriel Dupreau (1511-1588) of the Collège de Navarre.
The printer is a mystery: he is not attested in Antwerp, but is by some identified with H. Haultin at
La Rochelle (printer of Mornay, Du Bartas etc.). Woodcut ornament on title. Title in red & black.
Schoolboy’s name on lower flyleaf. Libr. stamp; bookseller’s ticket.

(lacking the “Boom” = genealogical tables, on ff. 57-62, blank h1, and 3 text ff.: ff6, gg1,4; title
soiled and underlaid, some spotting or marg. staining; a number of margins strengthened and a
couple of sm. tears repaired). Very good copy.
