Extr. rare (5th recorded copy) 1st publication of the Italian Neolatin poet and Augustinian monk
Giacomo Lavezzoli Lebeti (1510-1585). It is a verse panegyric on Ercole II d’Este, Duke of Ferrara
(1508-1559), married to Renée of France. Woodcut ornament on title. Large woodcut mark at the
end. On title an
anonymous 4-line Latin poem in cont. handwriting
“In Lauezoliu(m) Incerti
auctoris”.
