brown ink on handruled paper (some spotting, waterstaining in the margins).

Interesting manuscript by different hands containing 156 recipes to cure illnesses or discomfort, also
recipes to make your own remedy for certain uneases. By turning over the manuscript another 141
“recettes et secrets” with instructions to prepare food, tips and tricks for daily life. Both parts of the
manuscript provided with a table of contents. Manuscript given to J.M.F. Thiboult in 1778 after the
death of the owner, Marquis de La Sénie (?), who died at hospital after battle in Vollhinie (Volhynia
is a historic region in Central and Eastern Europe straddling Poland, Ukraine and Belarus). Other
ownership entry stamped “R. Serceau”.

Lang onbekend (?) gedicht met veel verwijzingen naar het O.T. en enkele bijbelverwijzingen in de
kantlijn. Inc. “Als Jan [?] vande naght quam vraghen ‘s vaders seghen”.

hs. op papier, c. 31,5 x 21 cm, mod. karton, [4] ff. (1ste blanco, papier gebruind, gat in binnenmarge
met verlies van enkele letters). Vrij goed bewaard. Onbekend (?) berijmd Nederlands gedicht op
de Zeven Hoofdzonden, bestaande uit een 6-regelige aanloop en 130 verzen over “onnoselheijt”,
“houerdicheijt”, “onkuijskeijt”, “gierigheijt”, “gulsigheijt”, “gramscap”, “nijdigheijt” en “[luij]
heijt”. Met enkele kalligrafische versieringen (titel en slot), en een kleine tekening in de 1ste letter
van de titel.
Los bijgevoegd
: mod. potlood afschrift van een “Gebed tot de H. Apolonia, Patroonerse
tegen de tamdpijn”. Naam op f. [1 r.]: “Sion”. (2 st.)

Rare fragment of “Lesguillon damour divin”, the French trsl. of the “Stimulus amoris”, a popular
devotional work often attributed to St. Bonaventura but probably the work of another Franciscan,
James of Milan. It was made for Marie, Duchess of Bourbon, daughter of John, Duke of Berry, and
presented to her in 1406 with other treatises by her confessor, Simon de Courcy, also a Franciscan.
The text of this fragment agrees with ff. lxxxv(v°)-lxxxvi(v°) of the ed. Paris 1529 (Moreau III:1658).

. [Italy? Spain?, 16th c.], very large vellum leaf, c. 74,5 x 52 cm,
written within yellow border, 14 ll. with large letters (h: 2,5 cm). In good condition (rolled up, verso
sl. rubbed). Text: Psalm 24(25):8-16 (Latin Vulgate), which was used for Matins (the Morning
Office of the Christian Church).

: 8 large rounded initials in blue, pink, yellow with sm.
