Mrs Farrar is a Lday who wrote the life of your Father"... Jared Sparks (1789-1866) served as President of Harvard University from 1849 to 1853. He was a keen bookcollector : his valuable collection of manuscripts and papers went to Harvard University, his private library and his maps to Cornell University. John Farrar (1779-1853) graduated at Harvard in 1803 and in 1805 was appointed Greek tutor at Harvard. He was chosen Hollis professor of mathematics and natural philosophy in the same institution in 1807. Elizabeth Farrar, his wife, published in 1831 the The story of the Life of Lafayette, as told by a father to his children.
