Mrs Farrar is a Lday who wrote the life of your Father"... Jared Sparks (1789-1866) served as President of Harvard University from 1849 to 1853. He was a keen bookcollector : his valuable collection of manuscripts and papers went to Harvard University, his private library and his maps to Cornell University. John Farrar (1779-1853) graduated at Harvard in 1803 and in 1805 was appointed Greek tutor at Harvard. He was chosen Hollis professor of mathematics and natural philosophy in the same institution in 1807.
