After drawings formerly attributed to Rembrand, now considered possibly as the work of his most gifted pupil, Gebrand Van Eeckhout. The Comte de Caylus (1692-1765) was a French antiquarian, proto-archaeologist and man of letters; he also was an art collector and a talented engraver and etcher.
