Description
covers with central horizontal panel and border rolls at top and bottom, 2 horizontal tooled metal strips on covers, tooled metal clasp and catch, a.e.g., ff. mounted on cloth stubs. Passe-partout spotted otherwise good condition.
Well-dressed family members of various generations (i.a. Alfred, Catherine, Emily, Olga, Vera Fynn, and Edward, Elisa, Helen, Louise, Mary Ainsworth). Among them a "Emily Fynn". Is there a connection with the Emily Fynn who met Nietszche at Sils Maria (Maloja, Switzerland) in the summers of 1885 and 1886? Although there were dozens of homonyms in England and Ireland in this period, it remains a very plausible and tempting idea, since the travels to Switzerland were not that common in those days. Somewhat older (1862) German inscription on front flyleaf.
