Description
the map 5 spheres depicting Day and Night, the Flood, the phases of the moon, and the Western and Eastern Hemispheres. The map was precisely engraved by Jan van Luchenburg (signature at lower left).
Joined : World map with 2 hemispheres. Amst., Visscher (?), c. 1700, (from a Dutch bible ?), trimmed with loss of title, 30,3 x 44,8 cm (remargined, tears rep. and compl. underlaid). World map with the 2 hemispheres and between them the "Polus Arcticus" and the "Polus Antarcticus". In the 4 corner allegorical representation of the 4 known continents with the people and animals living there. (2 pcs)
