Description
thick coloured ribbon, [36] ff., 38-39 ll., expertly written in brown/black ink, and ruled in yellow border. In very good condition. The "Carta" was ratified at Montalban on 24 October, and at Maceda on 29 October 1579. Illumination: F. 1v with large illuminated initial "D" showing a nobleman and St John the Baptist praying to the Holy Virgin; at bottom the elaborately gilt coloured coat-of-arms. F. 2r with a small coloured drawing of Ribadeneyra’s patron saint Jerome.
Decoration: F. 1v with elaborately gilt border, numerous large grotesque initials, some with a coloured background.
