Description
The rarest of all Plantin Press editions of the great botanical encyclopaedia by Rembert Dodoens (1517-1585). Ill. with an engr. title by W. Swan and +/- 1382 woodcut ills of plants. With the "Beschriivinge van de Indiaensche oft Wtlandtsche boomen (...) die van Dodonaeus niet vermaent, oft niet beschreven en zijn geweest" on p. 1461. Text printed in 2 cols and in gothic type. Cont. ownership entries on French title "P.C. Wouters Pastor in Betecom 1855" and "Danielis Susij".
