Description
48,5 x 56,5 cm (sm. margins); engr. names and Latin caption. Traces of adhesive tape in upper corners, sl. brown. otherwise good impression. 4th state (of 4), with the number "7" in right lower corner. By N. Lauwers (Antwerp 1600-1652), after a well-known composition by J. Jordaens of which many copies and replicas were made : Mercury and Jupiter seated at a table in a humble cottage interior, being served by the elderly couple Baucis and Philemon. Ref. Hollstein X, p. 41, 17. We join : Cochin, Charles-Nicolas the Younger - La mort d'Hippolyte, s.d. Etching and tool engraving after J. De Troy, publ. Paris, the author, 46 x 59 cm (large margins); engr. names and title. Sl. brown., more visible on verso. Impressive animated scene. (2 pcs)
