4to, orig. brown embossed gilt publisher's cloth (def. at spine & joints, bumped corners), a.e.g., 65 pl. (minor foxing esp. to extremities of margins, sm. def. on edge of a few pls). Good copy.
Complete with title with vignette, 2 engr. lists of plates and 62 full-page plates finely etched by Cooke (1811-1880), English painter and one of the great marine artists of the 19th century. Good set of plates (usually found badly spotted) showing numerous fishing boats, large rigged ships, steamboats, barges, with South and East English coastal scenery and the Thames.
