Description
3 vol., 4to obl., brown cloth (sm. def. at spine of 1st vol.), 65, 21, 17 pp. Later issue of the original edition, having many plates of the original edition (Artaria, 1795) included. According to Kinsky-Halm, this copy is the 4th re-issue of the Artaria ed.; however since more than half of the pl. are re-engraved, it is a new edition including many orig. pl. Entirely engraved scores, first performed in 1793 at a private concert at the home of his patron Prince Lichnowsky, to whom they are dedicated. The trios were first published in 1795. Despite the Op. 1 designation these are not Beethoven's first published compositions.
