2 vols, 8vo, cont. half green morocco, gilt spines on 5 raised bands  (vol. I discoloured), a.e.g., orig. wr. preserved, viii-448, 484 pp. (some browning & spotting). Good copy. First ed. of the lectures on La Fontaine, delivered at the Sorbonne in 1858-59, by Saint-Marc de Girardin (1801-1873), man of letters & politics, member of the Parliament & of the Académie. The present course is devoted to the fable, treated by way of the fables of La Fontaine.
