It was adapted for the Low Countries and augmented with an extensive Chronicle of the Kings of France and England. The work is illustrated with numerous woodcuts, from the blocks used in Veldener’s 1475 Louvain ed., but with the addition of 12 new ones, and of a set of coats-of-arms used only in the supplementary chronicles. “Here the printer surpassed his earlier Latin edition printed at Louvain by the introduction of decoration in the shape of woodcut borders, additional cuts and his large device” (BMC). Woodcuts in cont. hand-colouring in red and/or green; many coats-of-arms expertly coloured. Large woodcut mark at beginning and end. Table printed in 3 cols. A few capital spaces with guide-letters. Binder’s note on lower endpaper “Al duys gebonde(n) in(t) jaar 1622 yn yulyus by my claes gerretsz”. Some rolls stamped by "NP", an unidentified craftsman active in the German area (Goldschmidt pp. 298-299). They show biblical figures, i.a David, Iesaia, Paulus (with date 1557) and sm. figures with helmed heads. Manuscript additions (text and coats-of-arms) on f. 216r-v. Old acquisition note on verso of title crossed out.
