8vo, 19th-c. dark morocco, covers with triple gilt ruled border and gilt corner pcs, richly gilt spine on 5 raised bands, gilt inside dentelles, a.e.g., marbled edges and endpapers, [20]-447 (= 449)-[1] ff. (wormtrack in fore-edge margin of 2nd half touching gilding). Ruled copy. Very rare ed. (5th copy recorded?) of the French trsl. of the Roman historian Appian (95-165) by Claude de Seyssel (1450-1520), 1st publ. Lyon 1544. Old name on title. The Arenberg copy (heraldic bookpl.).
