Description
40 ff. (wormtrack in last ff. touching some letters), 8vo, cont. blindruled calf (sm. def.), spine on 4 raised bands with paper labels, red edges. Good copy. 1. Unrecorded (?) ed. of one of the most popular Latin schoolbooks of the 16th c., Despauterius’ (1480-1520) grammar, here edited by Gabriel Dupreau (1511-1588) of the Collège de Navarre. The printer is a mystery: he is not attested in Antwerp, but is by some identified with H. Haultin at La Rochelle (printer of Mornay, Du Bartas etc.). Woodcut ornament on title. Title in red & black.
