folio, mod. vellum over wood with orig. blindst. pigskin front cover expertly pasted on (soiled and rubbed), edges partly bevelled, spine on 4 raised bands, orig. metal catches (clasps gone), fore-edge titled, [4]-cxix-[1] ff. (dampstain in bottom half of last ff., final blank strengthened at top and bottom). Good copy. Rare 2nd ed. (1st 1531) of the 1st German trsl. of the Roman historian Justinus by H. Boner (1490-1556). Large woodcut on title (Ninus and Alexander the Great in armour) by Jörg Breu after Burgkmair. 73 woodcuts in text (i.a. 13 full-page and 36 half-page), 18 of which by Hans Weiditz. In gothic type. Old ownership entry on title "Nunc ex libris Albini C.R.V.". Old emblematic bookpl. with initials A.J.K.J.C.R.V.
