4to, old half vellum, yellow boards, flat spine titled in ink (sm. def.), [26]-187-[1617] pp. (paper age-toned, top edge dampstained, minor spotting, bottom margin of title cut off touching the imprint). Good copy. Extr. rare original ed. of this voluminous early precursor of the “Gradus ad Parnassum”, teaching how to compose Latin verses. Full-page woodcut portrait and arms of the author on a2v-3r.  Xylographic author’s name, signature and chapter headings. In “pars tertia”, De Odis et Psalmis, a few ff. with printed music. Old ownership entry on a2r.
