4to, cont. limp vellum, flat spine titled in ink, bottom edge titled, [12]-180-[18] ff. (paper age-toned, minor soiling). Good copy. Joannes Bellerus' very rare 3rd rev. ed. (1st 1544, 2nd 1555) of a treatise on the legal aspects of guardianship by the Bruges lawyer Damhouder (1507-1581). The present ed. is the only one to contain the additional texts in praise of Bruges. Woodcut ills : large arms of Cardinal Granvelle (on verso of title), folding map of Bruges, a reduced version of the one by Marcus Geeraerts and 10 full-page pl. Printed in 2 cols. Front cover with initials "N T" and an ornament (compasses?). Crowned collector's stamp on title. A few old reader's marks.
