8vo, old mottled calf (rubbed, sl. loosening at front), covers with gilt ruled border, gilt spine on 3 raised bands, [16]-119-[1] ff. (paper age-toned, minor dampstaining, sm. wormtrack in blank bottom inner margin of 1st ff., ff. 16-18 soiled). Good copy. Extr. rare only ed. of a mathematical textbook for Louvain students, compiled by P. Beausardus (1535-1577), town physician of Middelburg, and, from 1569, "professor regius" of mathematics at Louvain University. At the end of the prelims Latin verses by i.a. Cornelius Valerius. Woodcut mark on title and at the end. On verso of title full-page woodcut arms of the dedicatee, Duke of Medina Celi. A number of sm. woodcut diagrams. Numerous calculations. In italics. A few old ms. notes (cropped) and underlinings.
