8vo, cont. blindst. pigskin over boards (corners bumped), covers with sm. medallion portraits and blind oval central ornament, spine on 3 raised bands, [8]-278 ff. (paper age-toned, sm. hole in blank part of title). Good copy. Pt. 1 (of 2), complete in itself, of the collected Latin poetry of the Wittenberg and Jena professor of rhetoric Johann Stigel (1515-1562), containing i.a. “Preces, Psalmi Davidici, Hymni, Johel Propheta, Argonautica, Heroides, Epigrammata”. Woodcut on title. Woodcut mark at the end. In italics. Some cont. reader’s notes and marks. Front cover with blindstamped initials ‘I C O’ and date ‘1585’. Old ownership entry on title (partly deleted). Libr. st. (erased).
