Description
2 parts in 1 vol., folio, cont. overl. vellum, flat spine (loosening), [33] + 56 ff. with 112 numbered plates with engr. seals, 208-[44] ff. (some min. staining, pl. 36, 75 and 105 repaired). Good copy. Dutch trsl. by the author of the Latin ed. "Sigilla Comitum Flandriae" (1639); in 1640 also a French trsl. was published. This study of the seals and charters of the Counts of Flanders by the Bruges lawyer and historian Olivier de Wree (1596-1652) is based on many documents now lost. Circular engr. ill. on t.-p., num. engr. seals, genealogical engr. tables and 1 map. Ownership entry on title (erased), some ms. notes.
