Description
4to, cont. vellum (endpapers lifted), flat spine (head sl. def.), [10]-113-[25] pp. Excellent copy. Important early scholarly study of the bishops of Maastricht and Liège, the saints of Limburg and Loon, the Tungri etc., by the Limburg Jesuit G. Henschenius (Venray 1601 - Antwerp 1681), an early collaborator of Bollandus for the Acta Sanctorum. The present work was included in the Acta Sanctorum (VII, May) in a revised version. Woodcut mark on title. Presentation inscription "dono auctoris" tot the Brussels Jesuits; later in the famous collection of J.Fr. Vandevelde (name on flyleaf).
