4to, cont. vellum, flat spine titled in ink, 2 parts : [4]-303 (= 294), 272-[8] ff. (paper age-toned, marg. water stains, somewhat spotted, wormtrack in blank bottom margin of last ff.). Good copy. Rare early ed. (1st 1602) of a voluminous commentary on the Heidelberg Catechism by the German Reformed theologian Ursinus (1534-1583), trsl. and adapted for the Dutch Republic by the Leiden preacher Hommius (1576-1642). Full-page portrait of Ursinus. Woodcut mark on title. Printed in 2 cols, gothic type.
