Description
( Parisius, Johannis Barbier impressoris necnon librarii jurati sumptibus vero Francisci Regnault, finit anno d[omi]ni 1510 quarta die me[n]sis octobris). In-8° : ii/clii-[26] lvs (title-page lacking, one tear and margins in the beginning and the end repaired, dampstains in the margins except one large and light, stained, rare small perforations, lvs y5 and y6 inverted). Modern binding : threequarter leather, marbled paper boards, ribbed spine with blind fillets (pastedowns and flyleaves renewed). Early postincunabulum of this moral treatise (1st ed. : 1503) edited by the poet Bernardino Dardano (1472-1535) and dealing with idolatry, charity, youthness, etc. Text in gothic types decorated with dotted initials heightened and with ornaments in red ink in the table. Device of Jean Barbier on the back of last leaf. The Dominican Vivaldi (+ 1540), professor of theology was the counsellor of the marquesses of Saluzzo.
