Description
Very nice copy. rare and beautiful reproduction of 46 plates (including 36 Passion scenes) intended for a small format Book of Hours to be publ. by Chr. Plantin in 1588, but never finished as such. The drawings by Maarten de Vos (1531-1603) were engraved by Cr. van de Passe. One of the fine bibliophile publications from the early years of the Plantin-Moretus Museum by its first curator Max Rooses (1839-1914). Ref. M. Rooses, Cat. Musée Plantin-Moretus, n. 17 and 42.
