Description
Zuber, Aimé - Oblong album, publ. wr., spine lacking. With 29 pen drawings pasted down, various sizes, 1 loosely inserted showing costumes, landscapes, types etc., 8 sm. watercolours by C(harles) Z(uber) (?) (buterfly, skull, “hippobosque”, silhouettes)and 1 pen drawing by F(rédéric) Z(uber) (?) (mountain house and view). th Zuber-family was a grand alsatian family gifted in drawing and painting. some members of it were representative of the French (Jean-Henri, violette, anna-elisa, etc), others of the austrian (Julius) or swiss (Johan ulrich, Fritz) schools. We join 2 others albums: Oblong album, 4to, cont. green shagreen (sl. rubbed), gilt name “elisa” (Zuber?) within a gilt banderole with vineyard leaves and grapes on front cover, gilt flat spine, gilt dentelles on endpages. With 31 drawings in pencil or lavis showing landscapes ruins, etc. by a member of the Zuber family (?). - Gray Alexandrine (= Marie Gary) - album, 8vo, cont. green shagreen, gilt banderole on covers (rubbed with some loss on front cover), gilt spine (rubbed esp. head & tail). With 9 pencil drawings signed and some dated (1839) and ms. poems and texts in French (Lamartine, Comtesse de Genlis, Abbé Arnaud, etc.), English (Thomas Moore) and German.
