Description
Nice Kakemono or Japanese scroll painting on silk mounted on a flexible (here paper) backing, figuring 2 young women under an umbrella with blossoms in the left hand corner. The painted part of this standing scroll is surrounded by a silk striped patern. traditionally a kakemono was displayed in an alcove in a room especially designed for the display of prized objects. On the top half moon shaped wood rod is inserted a metal loop in order to tie the hanging thread.
