Contemporary binding : calf, boards with gilt panels figuring medallions and dotted in the back with flower tools, all encircled by gilt fillets, flat spine gilt decorated "à la grotesque", gilt edges (upper board detached, very slightly rubbed). Rare reissue (?) of the volume, part of the publication of the works of Cicero by Henri Estienne from 1545 until 1547, edited by the printer and booksellor Claude Chaudière (1516 ?- 1564 ?), grandson ("ex filia nepos") of Simon de Colines.
