Description
[Lyon], Antonium de Harsy (excudebat Guichardus Jullieron), 1599. In-8° : [24]-351-[1 bl.]-[44]-[2 bl.]-[1] pp. (browned, some foxing, thiny marginal wormholes, some marginal handwritten notes, stains -some strongs-pp. 301334). Modern imitation binding : flexible parchment with small flaps, flat spine with blind title and date, red edges (flyleaves renewed, very slightly trimmed). Second edition (1, ed. : 1592), with parallel text Latin-Greek and with five new Characters infirst edition, given by the humanist and scholar Isaac Casaubon (1559-1614). Work by the Greek philosopher and successor of Aristotle, Theophrastus (c. 371-c. 287) depicting humans faults : flattery, stupidity, impudence, superstition, arrogance, shyness, hypocrisy...
