Description
Château dudit LA FÈRE. Parchemin (14 x 31 cm) fait au Château de LA FÈRE le 14 Mars 1597. Cachet du Cabinet d'Hozier. Reçu du trésorier de la province de PICARDIE la somme de 33 Ecus Soleil, un tiers en espèces, «pour notre état & appointement de Lieutenant au château de LA FÈRE.» (Le Château de La Fère, construit pour Marie de Luxembourg et rattaché au domaine de la Couronne à partir de 1596. Il en subsiste une aile, constituant un exemple intéressant de l'architecture briques et pierres de la Renaissance en Picardie.)

Exhibit signed by François de MANVILLE, Captain of a Company of one hundred men of war at Pied Français holding garrison for the King's Service in the City of LA FÈRE, and Lieutenant in the government of the Castle of the said LA FÈRE. Parchment (14 x 31 cm) made at the Château de LA FÈRE on March 14, 1597. Stamp of the Cabinet d'Hozier. Received from the Treasurer of the Province of PICARDIE the sum of 33 Sunny Ecus, one third in cash, "for our state & appointment of Lieutenant at the Château de LA FÈRE." (The Château de La Fère, built for Marie de Luxembourg and attached to the Crown estate from 1596. One wing remains, an interesting example of Renaissance brick and stone architecture in Picardy).
