- MEUSE. Marshal De CASTRIES. Military leave signed by the Regimental Council of the Mestre de Camp Général de la CAVALERIE and Marshal de CASTRIES. Done at COMMERCY (55) in Lorraine 19 April 1779. Patent (20 x 31 cm). Red wax stamp of the Regiment.
Charles Eugène Gabriel de LA CROIX, Marquis de CASTRIES (1727-1801) was Lieutenant of the King in Languedoc, Secretary of State of the Navy and Marshal of France in 1783.
