"Vous trouverez cy joint, Monsieur, des exemplaires de la Proclamation du Roy (Louis XVI) du 5 du mois dernier sur le décret de l'Assemblée Nationale, concernant l'augmentation de la solde des gens de mer. Vous serez incessamment informé du détail de la disposition des nouvelles soldes qui n'a pu être encore définitivement arrêté" - 1p in-folio.
- César Henri de LA LUZERNE [1737-1799] Lieutenant General of the Armed Forces, Governor General of the Windward Isles, then Secretary of State for the Navy (he resigned on 26 October 1790). He emigrated in 1791. Letter signed in his own hand, handwritten letterhead "Commerce Maritime & Pêches", Paris, 18 July 1790, to M. LE MASSON à FÉCAMP (76). "You will find enclosed cy, Sir, copies of the Proclamation of the King (Louis XVI) of the 5th of last month on the decree of the National Assembly, concerning the increase of the pay of seafarers. You will soon be informed of the details of the disposition of the new pay which has not yet been definitively decided" - 1p in-folio.
