Lettre signée «Baron HUE» à Mr le Comte (Gentil St Alphonse), au Château de ST CLOUD le 22 Juillet 1818. 1p in-4° - «Recevez, je vous prie, tous mes remerciements du rapport favorable que vous avez fait concernant la demande de mon fils à l'effet d'obtenir un nouveau grade militaire. Le Roi daigna lui même annoncer hier dans un intervalle de la tenue du Conseil qu'il venait de nommer mon jeune homme Chef d'Escadron. Il a fait ce matin ses remerciements à Sa Majesté (Louis XVIII) et dès hier j'offris les miens à Mr le Maréchal de Saint Cyr. Vous avez promis à Mr Daugé de me consacrer un jour pour venir dîner avec lui chez moi: J'attendrai ce moment avec une impatience égale à la reconnaissance que je vous dois.»

Dedicated to the Royal family, he followed the Royal family to the Temple and was in charge of the Dauphin until his arrest. He accompanied Marie-Thérèse de France to Vienna in 1795. Baron in 1815. Letter signed "Baron HUE" to Mr le Comte (Gentil St Alphonse), at the Château de ST CLOUD on July 22nd 1818. 1p in-4° - "Receive, please, all my thanks for the favourable report you made concerning my son's request to obtain a new military rank. The King himself deigned to announce yesterday in the interval of the holding of the Council that he had just appointed my young man as Squadron Commander. This morning he thanked His Majesty (Louis XVIII) and yesterday I offered mine to the Marshal of Saint Cyr. You promised Mr Daugé to devote a day to me to come and dine with him at my home: I shall look forward to that moment with an impatience equal to the gratitude I owe you."
