famille jusqu'à Cherbourg éprouvent le besoin, au moment où leur mission vient de se terminer, de rendre témoignage de la conduite loyale et honorable que MM. Les Gardes-du-Corps ont tenue dans cette grave circonstance. Appelés à remplir un devoir d'honneur et de fidélité, ils ont su parfaitement concilier les exigences de ce devoir avec le respect dû au Gouvernement établi. MM. Les Commissaires se plaisent à déclarer que c'est à ce sentiment de réserve et de convenance qu'ils doivent en grande partie d'avoir heureusement accompli une mission dont l'issue importait tant à l'honneur de la France.» Impr. à ST LO, chez la Veuve GOMONT. The Commissioners delegated to accompany King Charles X and his family to Cherbourg felt the need, at the moment when their mission had just ended, to bear witness to the loyal and honourable conduct that Messrs. Les Gardes-du-Corps held in this grave circumstance. Called upon to fulfil a duty of honour and loyalty, they have been able to reconcile perfectly the requirements of this duty with the respect due to the established Government. The Commissioners are pleased to state that it is to this feeling of reserve and propriety that they owe a large part of the credit for having fortunately accomplished a mission the outcome of which was so important to the honour of France."
