128- BOWDLER (Thomas). A Short view of the life and character of Lieutenant-General Villettes, Late Lieutenant-Governor and Commander of the forces in Jamaica. To which are added, Letters written during a journey from Calais to Geneva, and St. Bernard, in the year 1814. With an appendix containing a few original letters and anecdotes of the late Madame Elizabeth de France. Published to assist in providing free seats for the Poor of Swansea, by enlarging the parish church. Bath, Londres, Richard Cruttwell, sod by John Robinson, and J. Hatchard, 1815, in-8, avec un portrait-frontispice par C. Heath, cartonnage Bradel bleu (reliure moderne). Bon exemplaire. Très rare : la première partie reprend le contenu d'une notice imprimée confidentiellement à la Jamaïque en 1808 (Anecdotes of the late Lieutenant-General Villettes), tandis que la seconde forme un recueil de lettres écrites pendant le séjour de Bowdler en France et en Piémont en juillet-octobre 1814.
