Description
first sentence "Defecerunt vulghare", the rest restored with pen with a datation error, some pale dampstains in the second half, mould in rare upper corners, some margins and corners repaired in the end, 19th Cent. handwritten foliotation). Bound by Lanne : threequarter blue shagreen, marbled paper boards encircled with two gilt fillets, gilt decorated ribbed spine, gilt edges (upper joint partly split, partly and slightly rubbed, corners dulled, various handwritten notes in French on the upper flyleaf).
Florentine edition in Italian of this manual for confessors printed around 1492 according to most of the bibliographies or before 1491 (BMC) and not in 1472 as written with pen on the title-page. The printer Francesco Di Dino was active in Florence between 1481 and 1497 confirming the common hypothesis. The Dominican friar and Archbishop of Florence Antoninus (1389-1459) created the oratory of the "Buonomini di San Martino" and was canonised in 1523.
