Nicolao Perotto [...]. Venetiis, (in aedibus Aldi, et Andreae Soceri, mense octobri [- novembri] 1520 [mense januario [- februario] 1521]). 4 parts in 1 vol. in-f° : [14]-106, [10]-102, [10]-127, 71 lvs (margins of title-page, first 4 lvs and last lf. repaired, marginal dampstains throughout, some large, with tears or with mould, some stains or foxing, rare handwritten notes in the margins of 4th decade, handwritten provenance on title-page). Contemporary binding : calf, boards encircled with a blind fillet and angular fleurons, blind decorated ribbed spine (spine and joints renewed, corners and one edge repaired, joints partly and slightly rubbed, small stains and wormholes, scratches, flyleaves renewed).
First in-folio Aldine edition of the first, third and fourth decades of Livius, an in-8° edition was published in 1518, edited by the poet Navagero (1483-1529). Followed by two epitomes of Livius' work : one of the 140 books and one in four books by the historian Lucius Annaeus Florus (74-130). With afterwards, the first five books of Polybius, one of the sources compiled by Livius, translated in Latin from the Greek by the humanist Niccolò Perrotti (1429-1480).
