Description
[Kavtaßpiyia [Cambridge], 'Е£єтояюяо9т яор' Ioannou Fieldou [John Field], [1665]. In-12° : [36]-126-[2 bl.] pp. (stains or dampstains, tears sometimes with lacks of text, foxing, handwritten provenance on the title-page). 19th Century binding : blue glazed calf, boards encircled with a gilt fillet and roll-stamp and with blind angular fleurons, gilt decorated ribbed spine, gilt roll-stamp on the turn ins, gilt edges (joints slightly rubbed, flyleaves renewed, slightly trimmed).
First edition of the translation (?) of this Anglican Book of Common Prayer by the English scholar John Duport (+ 1617), professor of Greek at Cambridge. Bound with, as usual, same place and editor : Yalthrion tou dabid. Kata tous Ebdomhconta [...]. [1664], 171 pp. (half part of p. 171 doubled lacking). Psalms also translated by Duport. Joint : LIPSIUS, Justus.- De constantia [...]. Juxta exemplar Antverpianum ex officina Plantiniana Raphelengii. M.DC.XIII [...]. 1705, in-12° contemporary sheepskin with clasps (foxing, dampstains in the upper corners, boards renewed). Allegorical frontispiece figuring the portrait of the philologist; ex-libris of the library of the Chapter of Stiefenhofen and handwritten mention of F.F. Prestl.
