Fioriture e lievi arrossature sparse ma esemplare con le incisioni in buono stato, ancora protette da veline. Legatura in mezza pelle verde con punte e piatti marmorizzati, duplice letto dorato ai piatti e titoli impressi in oro al dorso. Piatto anteriore un poco allentato, punte e cuf e stanche. Seconda edizione, dello stesso anno della prima: le due tirature differiscono per la paginazione delle due parti. Le belle tavole acolori sono state incise in acciaio da Charles Michel Geoffroy su disegni di Grandville e raf gurano ori che diventano donne; esse compendiano il testo, che può essere letto sia come un manuale per le donne che si interessano di botanica e giardinaggio come anche «a manual or guide to the botany and horticulture of women, or, more precisely, of those women whose temperament and needs are personi ed in ‘animated’ owers».
